Hilton Head Island welcomes over 2.5 million visitors every year, which brings with it the duty of ensuring the safety of our beaches. Unfortunately, in August 2024, we experienced the tragic loss of two lives due to rip currents, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness. To address this issue, the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Class of 2025 is launching the "Safe Shore" initiative. This program aims to improve beach safety for everyone by equipping the community with knowledge on how to identify and respond to rip currents through educational signage, printed resources, and collaborations with local businesses. Your support is essential, as many beachgoers do not possess the skills to recognize rip currents.

Your Support Matters

Help us make Hilton Head Island’s beaches safer by supporting the installation of 50 educational beach signs, the production of informative materials for hotels and restaurants, and the development of a comprehensive safety website in partnership with the Town of Hilton Head Island.

Donations can be made via PayPal, or by check payable to "Hilton Head Island Regional Partnership Foundation." Please include "Leadership Class of 2025" in the memo. Checks can be sent to the Hilton Head Island - Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.
